In week 1, we will give an introduction to the course. We will discuss the set-up of the course, what data science is and why it is so booming right now, and why we need data analysis and visualization. In addition, we will discuss supervised versus unsupervised learning, and look at some interesting applications of data analysis methods.
Complete and hand in questions 1 - 8 of the lab (at least 2 hours before the start of the lab), finishing the section “Part 1: to be completed at home before the lab”.
