In week 5 we will have a look at another classical supervised data science method: classification. When the outcomes that we are trying to predict are of a categorical nature rather than continuous data, we cannot use linear regression. Instead, we use methods such as logistic regression or K nearest neighbors. During the lecture and lab, we will learn about both these methods.
Complete and hand in questions 1 - 6 of the lab (at least 2 hours before the start of the lab), finishing the section “Part 1: to be completed at home before the lab”.
